Why Choose Fuse Electrical for New Builds?
Single point of responsibility
From electrical design through to handover, we manage every stage - first fix, second fix, testing, certification and aftercare.
Compliance assured
All our installations fully comply with current UK standards including BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), Part P (where applicable), Building Regulations, and relevant health & safety legislation.
Scalable approach
Whether you are building a single new house, a handful of units or a full housing development, our team has the experience and capacity to deliver effectively and on time.
Custom and future-ready solutions
We consult on layouts, lighting zones, power distribution, smart systems, EV charging readiness, and renewable integration to ensure the installation meets both current and future demands.
Quality and safety prioritised
We use high-specification materials and trusted electrical components. All work is inspected, tested, and certified before handover, and we provide complete electrical documentation (as-fitted drawings, test certificates, operating manuals).
Here’s how we typically deliver a new build electrical installation:
Design & Planning
We engage early in the project, working from architectural drawings and site plans to produce electrical layouts. This includes deciding socket and switch placements, lighting circuits, earthing and bonding schemes, distribution board layouts, and cable route planning.
First Fix
Once the building shell is ready, we install conduit, back boxes, containment, trunking, and cable routes. We collaborate with other trades (plumbing, HVAC, structural) to coordinate penetrations and ensure a seamless workflow.
Second Fix
At this stage we install switches, sockets, light fittings, data outlets, external lighting, and any bespoke electrical features (such as underfloor heating controls, smart home equipment, or security systems).
Testing & Certification
We carry out rigorous verification and inspection tests (continuity, insulation resistance, earth loop impedance, polarity, RCD tests, etc.). All results are recorded, and we issue the necessary certification including electrical installation certificate (EIC) and, where required, an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) for handover.
Handover & Support
We provide you with as-built circuit schedules, user manuals, test certificates and guidance on how to operate any smart systems. We also remain on hand for service, maintenance or fault response.
If you’re planning a new build, refurb or development and need a new build electrician in Brecon, Hereford, Abergavenny, Cardiff, Newport or across South Wales, Fuse Electrical is here to help. Contact us today to get started.
